October 10 - October 11, 2026 | Eagle, Wisconsin
6 / 12 / 20 Hour Ultra Run (Solo Runner or Relay team of up to 4)

The trail winds through golden woods, leaves crunch beneath your feet, and the autumn sun slices through the trees like a promise. Your breath is visible in the cool air, your legs burn, your heart pounds—but you feel alive.
We’re an uncommon group. A little wild, a little weathered, but fiercely loyal. We show up not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard. Because discomfort reveals something real. And the good news? You’re not alone. We’ve got your back—and so do the other runners chasing the sun, chasing something deeper.
So head toward the light. Bring a friend. Bring your fire. Let’s see what you’re made of.

This is HELIOS. Let's run uncommon.

about the race:
The goal of this race is to complete as many loops as possible during your selected timeframe of 6, 12 or 20 hours. You may race as a solo ultra runner or as a relay team of up to 4 people. You must be back and through the start/cones at the trailhead before time runs out for your last loop to count.
You check in, gear up and grab your shot of fireball (or Hammer HEED if you don't want alcohol). We all raise a glass to friendship and the challenge ahead and start the race with a toast. You can choose to run any of our three courses at any time during the race. We have a short, middle- and long-distance loop that all start and finish at the main trailhead a.k.a. the HELIOS Village. Check out the course details for more info on the routes.
All team exchanges happen inside the village at our designated runner exchange zone.
We believe in low key, well organized, challenging and uplifting races. Come challenge yourself, you'll be glad you did.
Schedule
COURSE OPTIONS
You can choose to run any of our three courses at any time during the race. Loops are run clockwise. All courses start and finish at the main trailhead a.k.a. the HELIOS Village. Teams may only have one athlete on the course at a time. Click to view the DNR Trail Map.

There is a cabin at the trailhead where you can warm up, refuel, etc. The parking lot is large and also right by the trailhead so you can keep dry / warm clothes and any extra gear / fuel nearby in your car. 20 hour athletes will have a designated area inside the shelter where they can leave a drop bag.
Timing/Results
We keep it old school and low key by design for a lot of our races, including this one. There’s no fancy chip timing system here and we like it that way. Each lap you will be directed to run to our timing station and give your race number (which is found on your athlete wristband) and what color loop you just completed to our volunteer timer. We have a simple system we use to track laps and calculate results. Our timer will confirm with you your number and color loop you just completed before you head out onto your next loop.

Results will be posted in the cabin within 15 minutes following the race. It's your job to check those results and report any discrepancies right away. If you leave prior to the end of your race, please check in with our timers to confirm your results. Final results will be posted to the website by 8pm on Sunday. In the event of a tie for awards, whoever completed their race first will break the tie.
Course
Three loops, endless grit. Check out the mileage, difficulty, and elevation before you take them on.
